Jefferson City police investigating deadly pedestrian crash

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Holts Summit woman died after being hit by a pickup truck in Jefferson City Tuesday.

According to a news release from the Jefferson City Police Department, Julie Hentges, 50, was walking northbound across Country Club Drive at the intersection with Rainbow Drive shortly before 6:30 p.m.

Police said Hentges was walking back to her car parked on the shoulder of the road.

A driver in a truck going westbound hit Hentges. Emergency crews transported her to a local hospital where she died.

Police said the driver was not injured. JCPD's traffic unit is investigating the incident.
