One person with moderate injuries sent to Jefferson City hospital after crash closes Highway 63 in Osage County

Crews closed a portion of Highway 63 in Osage County because of a Tuesday morning crash after two vehicles crashed causing one to catch fire.

A tweet from Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F said the highway was closed at Route E between Freeburg and Westphalia. Troopers said the highway reopened around 9:30 a.m.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report states that a 2000 Volvo 7400 turned into the path of 2007 Ford E350 van causing the van to hit the Volvo in the rear.

Officials say a short time later after the crash, the van caught fire.

The driver of the ford was taken to a Jefferson City hospital with moderate injuries.

The crash report lists the Ford as have total damage and the Volvo as having moderate damage.
