Fatal crash closes Highway 50 in Moniteau County

MONITEAU, Co. (KMIZ)

Authorities say one person is dead and two others were hurt in a wreck on Highway 50 in Moniteau County on Tuesday morning.

Missouri State Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Kyle Green said a semi tractor-trailer heading westbound on the highway hit a passenger vehicle that was driving east.

The highway patrol crash report said 30-year-old Juan Aguado-Vasquez, of California, was killed in the crash.

Trooper said the semi hit Aguado-Vasquez's car head-on.

The crash report said 30-year-old Bernadette Boyd and 32-year-old Joseph Harrington, both of Bevier, were hurt in the crash. Troopers said Boyd had serious injuries from the wreck. Both were taken to University Hospital in Columbia.

MoDOT crews said a wreck was on the highway between Tipton and Clarksburg.

Crews closed the highway for hours after the wreck was reported.
