Missouri woman killed in Maries County crash

DIXON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Missouri woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash just north of Dixon on Monday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol report said 23-year-old Amanda Franklin of Salem, Missouri died in the wreck.

Troopers say Franklin was driving an SUV north on Highway 133 around 6:13 a.m.

Franklin's vehicle crossed the centerline of the road and hit 50-year-old Gary Vineyard's pickup truck, which was traveling in the opposite direction, troopers said.

Franklin was pronounced dead at the scene, Vineyard had minor injuries from the crash was taken to a Jefferson City hospital, according to the report.

The patrol said Franklin was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened.
