Afternoon motorcycle wreck on Highway 50/63 sends driver to hospital

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

On Monday afternoon, a motorcycle wreck on Highway 50/63 sent the driver to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to the Jefferson City Police Department's traffic crash release, the driver was traveling westbound on the 6900 block of Highway 50/63 near Militia drive when the driver laid the motorcycle down and slid off the roadway.

According to the release, mechanical problems may have contributed to the crash.

The driver was taken to University Hospital by EMS according to the release.

The driver was wearing a helmet.
