CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said two motorcyclists were seriously hurt in separate crashes less than an hour apart in Camden County on Sunday.

A crash report said Bret Moore, 57, of Camdenton, and Cynthia Weishaupt, 55, of Bunker Hill, Ill. were flown to a Columbia hospital after the crashes.

Troopers said Weishaupt was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson Sportster southbound on Highway 7 near Tranquil Woods Road around 2:55 p.m.

The report said Weishaupt drove off the right side of the road and crashed into a street sign. She was thrown from the motorcycle, the patrol said.

Troopers said she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Camden County sheriff's deputies assisted troopers with the wreck.

About 50 minutes later, Moore crashed on another section of Highway 7, according to the report.

Crews said Moore was unable to slow down his 2003 Harley Davidson V-Rod for stopped traffic ahead of him.

Moore lost control of the motorcycle, it rolled over and he was thrown from the vehicle, reports said.

Troopers said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The reports did not say if other people were injured in the crashes.

A spokesman for University of Missouri Hospital said both Weishaupt and Moore were in serious condition as of Monday morning.
