Centertown woman killed after being hit by Amtrak train

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

State troopers say a Centertown woman died after being hit by an Amtrak train Wednesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F crash report said Kelly R. Stevens, 46, was hit by the train as she walked down the middle of the tracks around 11:08 a.m.

According to the report, the crash happened about a quarter-mile west of Highway Z at Lookout Trail.

Amtrak public relations manager Marc Magliari said no customers or employees on-board the train were hurt in the pedestrian crash.

Stevens was pronounced dead at 11:47 a.m. by a Cole County Medical Examiner, the report said.
