Minor injured in early morning crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A crash in east Columbia sent a 16-year-old girl to the hospital Saturday morning.

According to Missouri State Highway Crash reports, the driver was driving eastbound on I-70 Drive Southeast and Sunny Vale Lane just after 2 a.m.

That's when the driver went off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and became airborne before hitting the ground.

Officials had to extricate the girl from her vehicle.

Reports say she was transported to University Hospital with moderate injuries. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash.
