Police: Tractor-trailer driver killed in Sunday night crash
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia police say a tractor-trailer driver was killed in a crash on Interstate 70 East on Sunday night.
A release from the police department said Namara Dinegde, 48, of Kansas City, died in the single-vehicle crash that happened around 10 p.m.
According to the release, Dinegde was driving eastbound on the highway near the Stadium Boulevard exit when the tractor-trailer drove off the right side of the road and crashed into a guardrail.
The police department said it will investigate the wreck. It's unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, the release said. Police didn't say if weather conditions played a role in the incident.
Columbia firefighters and state troopers responded to the crash. Crews blocked off the interstate, according to a tweet from the fire department.
