One man dead after Miller County motorcycle crash

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon left one man dead in Miller County.

According to Highway Patrol crash reports, Kenneth Barton, 60, was driving a motorcycle west on Highway 54 shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Troopers said that Barton tried to turn left onto Allen Road when he missed the turn. The motorcycle went off the left side of the road and hit a "road side," according to crash reports.

Emergency crews airlifted Barton to University Hospital in Columbia where he was pronounced dead late Thursday night.

Barton, of Rocky Mount, Missouri, was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
