BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

State troopers said a Morgan County man was killed in a rollover crash outside of Boonville Tuesday afternoon.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F said in its crash report 61-year-old Harold Spruell, of Gravois Mills, died in the single-vehicle wreck on Route B around 3:20 p.m.

Troopers said Spruell was a passenger in 57-year-old Deborah Cheatum's SUV. The report said Cheatum was driving southbound on the highway when her vehicle crossed the center line.

Cheatum overcorrected multiple times, the SUV ran off the right side of the road and rolled over multiple times, according to the crash report.

The report said the Cooper County Coroner pronounced Spruell dead at 3:31 p.m. It added he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Troopers didn't say if Cheatum was hurt in the wreck.

Cooper County sheriff's deputies assisted troopers with the crash.
