Man killed in Camden County crash

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 70-year-old man was killed in a crash in Camden County on Monday afternoon.

It happened around 1:40 p.m. on Highway 5 north of the Business 5 overpass.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, a vehicle driven by Tracy Kemp, 60, rear-ended a pickup truck driven by Tommy Ward of Camdenton.

Troopers said that the impact caused the truck to travel off the right side of the road. The truck struck an embankment and overturned, ejecting Ward.

According to the crash report, Ward was pronounced dead at the scene just after 2:30 p.m. Troopers said Ward was not wearing a seat belt.
