COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Firefighters say a building on Paris Road was damaged after an SUV crashed through it late Monday night.

Several Columbia Fire Department trucks, Columbia police vehicles and a K-9 unit were at the scene in the 1700 block of Paris Road just before 11 p.m.

Firefighters tweeted early Tuesday morning the SUV drove through the first story of a commercial building. The tweet said no one was in the car when crews arrived.

According to our crew on scene, police directed traffic.

It's unclear what caused the crash.
