Boonville man killed in Sunday motorcycle crash

BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

State troopers say a Boonville man was killed in a Sunday afternoon motorcycle crash.

James Brandl, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near the intersection of Eleventh Street and Highway 87 around 1:47 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

According to the trooper's report, 66-year-old Karen Gately, of Boonville, was overtaking Brandl on the highway but ended up crashing. The patrol said Brandl was thrown from his motorcycle.

Troopers said no others were hurt in the wreck. Boonville police officers and Cooper County sheriff's deputies assisted the patrol in the crash, the report said.
