COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Interstate 70 westbound in Columbia reopened Thursday morning after crews shut down the highway following a crash.

Crews said the crash sent debris into the roadway near the Rangeline Street exit on I-70.

Boone County Joint Communications said in an announcement at 8:15 a.m. one lane of the highway was closed after the crash. The message didn't say which lane was closed.

MoDOT spokesman Adam Pulley said Columbia police and state troopers closed the interstate for about 30 minutes while MoDOT crews cleaned the roadway.

It wasn't immediately available what caused the crash or how many vehicles were involved.
