BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

State troopers said two drivers were taken to the hospital after a semi-truck was involved in a crash on Interstate 70 eastbound Wednesday morning.

It caused a back-up near the Boone County and Callaway County line.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report said the semi driven by 35-year-old Andrew Plattner crashed into a truck driven by 82-year-old Samuel Dyer. The report shows Dyer tried to crossover over at the median when the wreck happened.

Troopers said both vehicles traveled into the median.

The report said the two drives had minor injuries when they were taken to Boone Hospital Center. No other people were hurt in the crash.

Boone County Joint Communications and Mo-DOT tweeted about the crash at mile marker 136 near Route Z for a wreck.

An ABC 17 News crew said at least two vehicles were involved in the crash. The news crew said the semi rolled over into the median.

The crash caused traffic on both directions of the interstate.

State troopers blocked off the interstate for mud on the westbound lanes and emergency vehicles in the eastbound lanes.
