Pedestrian crash on MU campus sends one to hospital

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) --

University of Missouri police are investigating a pedestrian crash.

Police responded to a call about a crash at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday. According to a spokesperson with MUPD, a car driving east on University Avenue hit a person walking south on Matthews Street.

Emergency crews transported the individual who was hit to a nearby hospital. Police did not say what condition they are in.

MUPD officials said the intersection is four-ways where traffic is only controlled north and south by stop signs on Matthews Street.

The identity of the person hit was not immediately released.
