Skywest Airlines is having to cancel flights due to technical issues.

Skywest Airlines confirmed it had to cancel 608 flights Thursday night and at least 217 flights that were scheduled for Friday.

Media relations for American Airlines confirmed these technical issues also impacted the Columbia Regional Airport as well. COU had to cancel two American Airlines flights to Dallas and Chicago. Both of those flights were scheduled to leave Friday morning.

These technical issues were restored at 8:00 Thursday night, but airline travelers are still feeling the impact.

"We are working to minimize the impact on Friday's schedule and return to normal operations as quickly as possible," Skywest Airlines said in a statement.
