COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Traffic for the Boone County Fair could be impacted by road work on a bridge on Highway 63.

The Missouri Department of Transportation and City of Columbia sent separate press releases on Monday about possible traffic impacts.

Bridge approach work on Highway 63 is ongoing and one lane will be open in each direction, MoDOT’s release says. The passing lane will be closed in each direction from Route B to Range Line Street until mid-August.

The fair takes place 5-10 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday at Northeast Regional Park, 5212 Oakland Gravel Road.

Brown School Road will be blocked east of the Highway 63 exit for eastbound traffic from 5-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday because of night-time events at the fair, the city release says. Drivers are advised to use Prathersville Road.

The city’s release says fair attendees are encouraged to use alternate routes to reach the park.
