Two injured in Jefferson City crash

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two people suffered moderate and minor injuries in a Friday crash on westbound Highway 50/63 at Clark Avenue, according to a crash report from the Jefferson City Police Department.

According to the report, the crash occurred after Jacob Holtkamp, 18, of Vandalia, lost control of a 2006 Mazda 3 while he was in the driving lane. The vehicle swerved across the left lane and hit a concrete median, the report states. The vehicle then skid back into the right lane and stopped while facing east, the report states.

Holtkamp had moderate injuries and his passenger – Anthony Holtkamp, 40, of Vandalia, who had minor injuries – were brought an area hospital by ambulance, the report states.  Jacob Holtkamp was not wearing a seatbelt, while Anthony Holtkamp was wearing one, the report states.

The Mazda was totaled, the report states. Highway 50/63 was restricted to one lane for about 30 minutes, the report states.
