Two suffer minor injuries in crash at Jefferson City tri level

Two people suffered minor injuries Wednesday in a crash at the tri-level overpass in Jefferson City, according to a crash report from the Jefferson City Police Department.

Officers responded to Highway 50/54 shortly after noon, the report states.

The report states the crash occurred as a 2017 Nissan Rogue – driven by Alyssa Robinson, 18, of Eldridge -- had northbound and exited Highway 54 to the tri level and drove into the path of a 2012 Chevrolet Impala. The Impala -- driven by Barbara Brackett, 64, of Kirksville – was heading eastbound from Highway 50, the report states.

The front of the Chevy hit the driver-side of the Nissan, which skid, went off the left side of the road and hit a guardrail, the report states.

Both drivers had minor injuries and were treated and released at the scene by Cole County EMS and the Jefferson City Fire Department, the report states. Both vehicles totaled.

Traffic was diverted for about 30 minutes, the report states.
