Lane of I-70 to close on Missouri River bridge for urgent repairs

COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One eastbound lane of Interstate 70 over the Missouri River bridge near Rocheport will be closed for three nights next week for urgent repairs.

The Missouri Department of Transportation said in a news release that the repairs were needed to the driving surface east of the bridge. The agency said water has seeped under the road, damaging its base and causing it to settle.

Contractors will work from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. Traffic will be reduced to one lane starting west of the bridge and the speed limit will be 60 mph through the work zone.
