Man seriously hurt in ATV crash in Moniteau County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 54-year-old Polo man was seriously hurt in an ATV crash in Moniteau County just before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the man was riding a 2004 Honda Recon in the 16000 block of Garrett Road going south, with a 50-year-old Polo woman, when the man failed to navigate a hill. The ATV overturned, pinning both the man and woman under the ATV.

The man has serious injuries and the woman has moderate injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to University Hospital.

The ATV had minor damage. The report states the man and woman were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
