Man seriously hurt in Gasconade County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 54-year-old Owensville man was seriously hurt after a crash in Gasconade County at 12:30 p.m. Monday.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the man was heading west in a 2023 Kia K5 on Highway 50 east of 5th St., when he hit the back of a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 64-year-old Washington man. The Kia then went off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole.

The Owensville man was seriously hurt and was taken to Mercy Washington Hospital by ambulance. The Washington man was not hurt.

The Kia was totaled, while the Chevrolet had moderate damage. The report states both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
