Two seriously hurt after motorcycle crash in Monroe County

Two people were seriously hurt after a motorcycle crash in Monroe County just after 5:15 p.m. Thursday.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 71-year-old man from Spearfish, South Dakota, was driving a 2008 Honda Goldwing with a 71-year-old woman also from Spearfish, South Dakota, as a passenger on County Road 581, five miles east of Stoutsville, when the motorcycle went off the right side of the road and overturned.

Both the driver and passenger were flown to University Hospital with serious injuries, according to the report.

The report states both were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
