Two stabbings reported in Columbia, investigations ongoing

COLUMBIA, Mo. (MKIZ)

Two stabbings were reported in Columbia early Monday morning.

The first incident happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Claudell Lane. One person was taken to the hospital with injuries, according to a Columbia Police Department spokesperson. The severity of the victim's injuries is unknown.

The second stabbing occurred around two hours later.

According to Lieutenant Anthony Bowne with the Columbia Police Department, officers were called to the 4500 block of Rice Road for a domestic violence assault around 2:40 a.m.

Upon arrival, they found a victim with an apparent stab wound. The victim was taken to Boone Hospital with minor injuries.

An ABC 17 News videographer at the scene saw around 10 Columbia Police Department officers investigating near a home.

Bowne says this was an isolated incident. Nobody is in custody at this time, but says there is no threat to the public.

It is unclear if both stabbings are connected.

The investigation is ongoing.
