Two people seriously injured after crash in Callaway County

A man and a woman were seriously hurt after a crash in Callaway County just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 45-year-old Fulton man was driving a 2017 Ford Taurus on Route BB when he crossed Highway 54 in front of a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by a 26-year-old Tebbetts woman, and was hit.

Both cars went off the right side of the road before coming to a stop. Both drivers suffered serious injuries from the crash and were taken to University Hospital by ambulance.

The Chevrolet was totaled, while the Ford had extensive damage, according to the report. The man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The woman was not wearing a seatbelt.
