Vichy man seriously hurt after crash in Phelps County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 20-year-old Vichy man is seriously hurt after a crash in Phelps County just after midnight Wednesday, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The report states the man was driving a 2004 Nissan Frontier on Highway P, near Forrest Service Road 1516, heading west, when the car went off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

The driver was flown to University Hospital by Phelps Air with serious injuries. The passenger, a 20-year-old man from Steelville, was taken to Phelps Hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries, according to the report.

The report states the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but the passenger was. The Nissan was totaled.
