Jefferson City duplex considered a total loss after early morning fire

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A duplex is a total loss after an early morning fire on Wednesday in Jefferson City.

According to a press release from the Jefferson City Fire Department, firefighters were called to the 1400 block of St. Mary's Boulevard just after 2 a.m. Wednesday for reports of a home on fire.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from the second floor of the duplex. Fire crews battled the blaze from inside the duplex and from the outside using a ladder truck.

Jake Holee, Assistant Chief of the Jefferson City Fire Department, told ABC 17 News over email that there were no injuries from the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshals' office and the Jefferson City Fire Department, according to the release.
