COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

High winds that swept through Mid-Missouri on Thursday morning left hundreds of Ameren Missouri customers without electricity.

Ameren Missouri's outage map showed 742 customers in Cooper County without service. Another 866 were in the dark in Audrain County, and 93 in Callaway County.

A tree was downed in Centralia, according to the National Weather Service. A wind advisory remained in effect until midnight, with the National Weather Service expecting winds of 20 mph to 50 mph.

Boone County Emergency Management Director Chris Kelley said a strong wind gust knocked out power to about 100 addresses along Route B north of Hallsville to Centralia.
