Missouri State Highway Patrol

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 3-year-old boy from Tuscumbia drowned at the Lake of the Ozarks in Camden County Sunday afternoon at the 4.8-mile marker of the Glaize Arm, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The report states that the child entered the water around 12:30 p.m. Sunday from the back of an anchored 2023 Lowe Pontoon boat and did not resurface.

The child was taken to Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon. The report states the child was not wearing a life preserver.

The report says an adult was driving the boat, but does not specify the driver's gender, age, place of residence, or whether they were wearing a life preserver.

This is Troop F's second death of August and seventh for the year, according to the report.
