Two men injured, two juveniles arrested after shooting in downtown Columbia early Sunday morning
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Two men were shot and two male juveniles are in custody after a shooting in downtown Columbia early Sunday morning. Columbia Police Department spokesman Brian McNeill said the public is safe.
An ABC 17 News reporter was on E Broadway around 1:20 a.m. and heard what sounded like multiple gunshots.
The ABC 17 News reporter arrived at the scene on E Broadway and S Ninth Street around 1:30 a.m. and saw more than a dozen CPD vehicles, at least two Boone County Sheriff's Office vehicles, a CFD engine, and a MU Health ambulance. The scene was primarily on S Ninth Street, with officers also at Hitt Street and Locust Street.
ABC 17 News saw a person getting put into a MU Health ambulance near Essentialz Vapes in the 900 block of E Broadway.
Evidence markers were placed on the ground by law enforcement in an alley off of Cherry Street behind the Shot Bar.
According to a press release from CPD, one of the victims was transported to a local hospital while the second arrived at a local hospital shortly after.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Ashland Police were also assisting officials at the scene
The scene cleared around 3 a.m.
