QUESTION OF THE DAY: Are we heading toward a recession?

Things were looking dire for the Dow before Monday even began.

The news started coming out Sunday evening that futures trading was way down on the Dow Industrial Average -- to the tune of more than 1,200 points. It was a harbinger of another hard Monday to come.

The international markets' major slide since President Donald Trump said he would levy massive, worldwide tariffs has plenty of economists saying a recession is coming. But some hold out hope that such an outcome can be avoided.
