Four displaced, one hurt after townhome fire in Jefferson City Thursday morning
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Four people are displaced and one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a fire at a townhome in the 600 block of Oak Creek Ct. just before 1 a.m. Thursday, according to a release from the Jefferson City Fire Department.
Fire crews arrived at the scene and began an aggressive attack. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly, according to the release.
Significant damage was reported to the unit where the fire started, and minor damage was reported at an adjacent unit.
One person was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Four adults were displaced due to the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. According to the release, smoke alarms alerted the residents to the fire.
A total of 17 Jefferson City Fire personnel responded, in addition to five personnel with the Cole County Fire Department. The Jefferson Police Department and Cole County Emergency Medical Services also assisted.
