Hundreds without power across Mid-Missouri
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Hundreds of customers are without power Wednesday morning as strong gusts of wind and snow hit Mid-Missouri.
According to the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives, as of 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, 500 customers are without power in Cooper County. 184 customers have no power in Morgan County and 343 are without power in Camden County.
A Co-Mo Connect spokesperson said at its peak across its coverage area of nine counties there were 1,200 customers without power. This included 307 in Cooper County just before 8:22 a.m. All of the outages were because of weather and winds that moved through the area.
The map shows Moniteau County has 139 customers without power and Cole County has 164 customers without power.
A spokesperson for Boone Electric Cooperative said at its peak there were 282 customers without power around 5 a.m. for 11 outages. As of 9 a.m., 144 customers were still without power across Boone County according to the outage map.
According to the City of Columbia Outage Map, two separate electrical incidents have caused just under 200 outages across the city.
The map shows one incident happened near the intersection of W Rollins Rd. and S West Blvd., the other is located on the Business Loop near the intersection with Clinkscales Rd.
A spokesperson for the City of Columbia said both outages were caused by wind and trees. Power was restored for the 198 customers just after 8 a.m.
Ameren reported 150 customers without power in Cole and Callaway County at 9:30 a.m. A spokesperson said these numbers are expected to change throughout the area due to high winds.
Three Rivers Electric Cooperative was reporting 642 customers without power across Cole, Osage and Gasconade Counties at 9:30 a.m.
