Man seriously injured in Howard County crash

A 19-year-old man from Farmington, Missouri, was seriously injured in a crash Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 240 and Highway 40 in Howard County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The report states that the man was driving southbound on Highway 240 a little after 1:00 p.m in a 2004 Chevrolet Cobalt when he failed to stop at the intersection. His vehicle was hit on the driver's side by a Chevrolet Impala that was headed westbound on Highway 40 – driven by a 43-year-old woman from Marshall, Missouri.

The Impala's driver and passenger, a 39-year old man from Marshall, Missouri, suffered minor injuries. The Cobalt's passenger, a 19-year-old woman from High Ridge, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. All four people were taken to University Hospital by ambulance.

Both vehicles were totaled, the report says.
