COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Osage Beach Police Department patrol vehicle was totaled after a crash on the Grand Glaize Bridge Friday morning.

According to a release from the city, the officer was not in his car as he was helping a semi-truck driver from a separate crash when the second truck crashed into the patrol vehicle.

The police cruiser was parked with emergency equipment activated due to the first crash, the city said in its release.

The release said the semi-truck lost control and crashed into the officer's vehicle.

The MoDOT Traveler Map showed Highway 54 as covered in snow at 9:30 a.m.

Both Missouri State Highway Patrol and City of Osage Beach officials said the bridge was open and clear as of 9:30 a.m.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
