Elderly woman killed in Phelps County fire
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A woman was killed and a man was badly injured in a house fire Thursday night in Phelps County.
The Phelps County Sheriff's Department says the 74-year-old woman, who was not named in a social media post, was pronounced dead at the scene after firefighters responded at 7:17 p.m. to the 13000 block of County Road 2250.
A 54-year-old man, John A. Bell, was flown to Mercy Trauma Center in St. Louis for serious injuries, the sheriff's department says.
The fire remains under investigation.
