Jefferson City man dead after crash in Moniteau County early Saturday

MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was killed in a crash at around 2:40 a.m. Saturday in Moniteau County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The report states that an 18-year-old man from Jefferson City was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina on Route T with a 16-year-old boy from Freeburg when the car went off the right side of the road, became airborne and flipped over, according to the report. After the car flipped, it crashed into a parked 1987 Kenworth.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 16-year-old was seriously injured and flown to University Hospital for treatment.

The report states neither of them were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
