Suspect charged in deadly Columbia robbery back in Boone County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man charged with murder in connection to the death of a Columbia man is now in the Boone County Jail.

Julius Mosby, 18, was booked into the Boone County Jail Tuesday evening after being extradited from Indianapolis, Indiana. He is charged with second-degree felony murder and first-degree robbery in the death of Traquan Reed, 18, on Oct. 10.

Byron Sampson, 20, of St. Louis, is charged with second-degree murder in connection to Reed's death and is being held in the Boone County Jail without bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7.

Sampson is accused of intentionally hitting Reed with the stolen truck. Reed was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Demetrius L. Mays, 22, is also charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree felony murder for his alleged involvement. Court records state he has a preliminary hearing set for Nov. 14.
