The University of Missouri kicks off homecoming week on Sunday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

With the University of Missouri's 113th homecoming football game against Auburn less than a week away, the university is hosting multiple events throughout the week for its "Leading the Legacy" homecoming 2024 celebration.

Homecoming week will kick off tonight at 6 p.m. with the Light the Dome event at Traditions Plaza. The dome of Jesse Hall will be lit up gold. According to the university's website, Tiger fans can meet Homecoming Royalty and enjoy an outdoor concert with the RedBull DJ Truck.

Monday through Wednesday there will be the Homecoming Talent show from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Jesse Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets for the public are limited and available at the door until they run out.

Thursday through Sunday emphasizes downtown Columbia with the Decorate the District event. Decorations throughout The District will be up until Sunday afternoon.

Friday has three events planned. The first is campus decorations, from 6-9 p.m. in Greektown. Participating houses will have interactive displays, skits, and more highlighting this year's theme, "iconic movies."

At 7 p.m. Friday, fraternities and sororities with the National Pan-Hellenic Council will host the NPHC Step Show at Jesse Auditorium. Tickets are required for this event and can be bought online.

Then, from 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., there will be the homecoming spirit rally in Traditions Plaza. Marching Mizzou and the Golden Girls are set to be there. If you are unable to attend, there will be a live broadcast of the rally.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, the homecoming parade will begin weaving throughout Mizzou's campus and downtown Columbia.

The Tigers will face off against Auburn for the homecoming football game at Memorial Stadium on Saturday at 11 a.m.
