Illinois woman seriously hurt in Callaway County ATV crash Saturday evening

CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Princeton, Illinois, woman was seriously hurt after an ATV crash in Callaway County at around 5:20 p.m. Saturday, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The report states that Anthony Avelar, 40, of Walnut, Illinois, was driving a 2014 Honda Foreman Rubicon north on County Road 304 with passenger Kelcie Knoles, 19, of Princeton, Illinois, when the ATV hit a ditch/culvert and flipped over.

Avelar and Knoles were both taken to University Hospital by a Callaway County ambulance. Knoles suffered serious injuries from the crash. Avelar suffered moderate injuries, according to the report.

The report states they both were not wearing helmets.
