Biscuits, Beats and Brews festival to provide shuttle service for attendees

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Ozark Mountain Biscuit Bar is gearing up for day two of their weekend-long Biscuits, Beats and Brews festival on Saturday.

The festival will run Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Biscuits, Beats and Brews is a free, three-day music celebration from Oct. 4-6 hosted at Cooper's Landing. Last year, Biscuits, Beats and Brews rescheduled the festival to unofficially fill the empty spot after the Treeline Music Festival was canceled.

The event will have both free and $5-a-day parking off Smith Hatchery Rd. Guests are encouraged to pay for parking as it has more space and a free shuttle service to and from the festival.

"That [parking] was our primary focus as well, because we know that even just on any given weekend, Cooper's Landing is a very popular spot and a lot of people come down here and parking can be an issue at times," LaVaute said.

Any guests choosing to park in the free parking area along Smith Hatchery Rd. are told to listen to staff and volunteers while parking and only park where directed.

Handicapped parking is also available on-site near the festival entrance.

Pets and outside food and drinks are not allowed in the venue.

Anyone planning to bike to the festival is encouraged to stop at Walt's Bike Shop in Columbia to pick up a free biscuit voucher before leaving. Any attendees who arrive at the festival on a bike with a voucher will receive a free biscuit.

The festival will have food trucks, local artisans, and 18 different musicians throughout the weekend. Brand new to the festival this year is a second stage, so when one artist ends their set, another act will begin immediately.

"It's an event in which I feel like we're really showcasing the best of what Missouri music has to offer," event director Colin LaVaute said.
