Train hits cargo truck crossing tracks in Mexico

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was unhurt after a train hit the back of the truck Saturday in Mexico, Missouri.

Marcus Richardson, 43, was crossing the tracks on Vandiver Street in a 2005 Sterling commercial truck at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday when the crash happened, the Mexico Department of Public Safety wrote in a news release. Richardson didn't see the train coming and it hit the back of the truck, police say.

The train didn't derail and nothing leaked. Police say Richardson had no serious injuries.

The truck had to be towed from the scene.
