A local nonprofit said Tuesday that its rental assistance program would run short after federal COVID-19-era dollars are exhausted.

Love Columbia pleaded for funding a news release, citing increasing demand for its rental assistance. The organization says Columbia's average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is more than $850.
