Government offices closed Monday for Labor Day; trash services impacted in Columbia, Fulton, Boonville

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Government offices around the state are closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day.

Regular city council meetings in Columbia and Jefferson City will occur Tuesday.

The holiday will also impact trash pickup in multiple cities. Trash regularly picked up on Monday in Columbia and Boonville will be picked up on Tuesday, and all remaining pickup days for the week will be delayed by one day, according to online information from both cites.

Trash pickup in Fulton that regularly occurs on Monday will happen on Tuesday, according its solid waste calendar. Jefferson City’s pickup will not be affected.

A press release from the City of Columbia says Go COMO will not run. JEFFTRAN in Jefferson City is also closed, according to information on its website.

The Activity and Recreation Center in Columbia will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., while the Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center will be open noon-5 p.m. Parking meters in Columbia are not enforced on the holiday, according to information on the city’s website.

Emergency services will not be impacted.
