BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri Task Force 1 was deployed on Wednesday to Raleigh, North Carolina to assist as Tropical Storm Debby is expected to bring more rain to North Carolina.

According to a release, 35 task force members have been activated for deployment to Raleigh, North Carolina for Tropical Storm Debby.

The task force was activated as a Type III task force which members plus 10 ground support personnel will join Pennsylvania Task Force 1 and New Jersey Task Force 1 to stage. The teams will receive mission orders as needed once they arrive.

MOTF1 left Boone County at 2 a.m. on Wednesday with hopes to arrive in Raleigh later in the day.

Two MOTF1 members were deployed on Sunday as part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Incident Support Team. Two local volunteers from the Missouri and Arkansas chapter of the American Red Cross also responded to Florida to help after the storm made landfall as a hurricane.
