Homes damaged by trees after Tuesday morning storms in Sunrise Beach

SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person was pulled from a house in Sunrise Beach after the building collapsed after a tree fell on Tuesday morning.

According to the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District, firefighters were called to a report of a house fire on Shawnee Court at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Upon arriving in the area several downed trees were blocking the roadway.

The post states Fire Chief Joseph  LaPlant walked to the scene and found no fire but several trees down on two separate houses with a partial collapse along with power lines down.

One person was extricated from a collapsed house with minor injuries. They were evaluated but refused care, according to the social media post.

Co-Mo Electric Cooperative is assisting with the fallen power lines, according to the fire protection district.
