One killed, two injured in Moniteau County crash

MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person was killed and two others were hurt after a crash on US Highway 50 near Route BB Friday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash happened at 6:20 p.m.

According to an online crash report, a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 driven by Ryker Edwards, 19, of Tipton with passenger Lily Petree, 19, of Tipton was driving westbound in an eastbound lane when it hit a 2003 Dodge 2500, driven by Darrelll Schultz, 43, of California head-on.

Petree and Edwards were thrown from the Chevrolet on impact. Petree was pronounced dead on scene. Edwards sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital. Schultz sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Capitol Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City.

This is Troop F's fourth fatal crash for April and 13th of 2024.
