Deputies called to Warsaw for stabbing assault at Dollar General

BENTON COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One man is in custody after he allegedly attacked and stabbed another man in a Dollar General parking lot Saturday night in Warsaw.

Deputies were notified at around 4:30 p.m. of an assault in the parking lot of the Dollar General located on Highway 7, according to a Facebook post from the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

The victim told investigators that David Meddings, 58, allegedly attacked him while he was sitting in the passenger seat of his friend's car. Meddings allegedly pulled open the door and physically assaulted the man before stabbing him in the lower abdomen once with a sharp weapon.

Both the victim and Meddings left the scene and went back to their homes on Fairview Drive in Bent Tree Harbor after the altercation. According to the department, this is part of an ongoing feud between neighbors.

The victim was transported by air ambulance for his injuries, according to an initial Facebook post from the department.

Meddling was arrested around 5:00 p.m., officials said that charges are pending once the investigation is finished.
